Spring in Tennessee is one of my favorite seasons. I love seeing the dormant earth come back to life. I appreciate it even more as I celebrate the Passover; contemplate Jesus’ time in the garden; His choice to submit to the Cross; His torture and death; and finally His resurrection! He conquered the grave, allowing us the ultimate freedom to experience our heavenly father. The following song has become an anthem for me this week:

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
Break every chain
Break every chain

This morning as I listened to NPR a story came on about anonymous donors in Michigan leaving a gift to the state that will pay in full for any child who graduates high school to attend a Michigan state university or community college. What an amazing opportunity for these kids! The culture in their schools has changed as teachers now ask, “what school do you plan to attend” instead of, “what are your plans after high school”. They have a culture that values higher education and it is already transforming Michigan!

So I started thinking about Big Harry Audacious Goals (BHAG’s) and the power of a promise. There are many things in Cambodia we can’t change easily – but we can change how many children have the opportunity to attend university. I had a vision that every Cambodian child who passes their exams could attend university. I had a vision of the culture changing to one that values education – where grade school children believe they can become doctors, nurses, business owners, shop owners, layers, etc. Wow! Talk about changing a country!

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
Break every chain
Break every chain

Can you hear the anthem ringing out? We believe in the power of a promise! We believe in the promise of freedom and we believe that with God all things are possible. So, I’m going to pray that God would choose the amount necessary to ensure every Cambodian child who passes their exams – can attend university! And, I encourage you to pray with me, asking if God is calling you to be an anonymous donor who will help us achieve this BHAG.  I know the cost of sending one child to university for 4 years is approximately $5,500 depending on their chosen major. Join us in transforming a country through the power of a promise!

There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
There is power in the name of Jesus
Break every chain!
Break every chain!

Happy Resurrection Day to you all!
