“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:42
It is the day before the Freedom’s Healing team leaves for Cambodia. We are all busy packing and taking care of our “home life” before Cambodia becomes our home for the next two weeks. As we anxiously await our 445AM meeting time at the airport, I can’t help but remember my last trip to Cambodia. It brought back wonderful memories of sweet patients and excitement over reuniting with Cambodian friends. It also reminds me of the hardships and suffering that we witnessed. I am overwhelmed with thoughts. Will all of our bags arrive safely? Will we have the right medications? Will we be able to see all of the patients? The Lord brings peace to these thoughts and gently reminds me that not my will but His be done.
It is with that same sentiment that I ask for you to join us in praying for our journey. We will be serving in Cambodia from September 19 -30, and ask for you to cover us in prayer during this time.
- Please pray that we would lay any expectations at the feet of the Lord, and let His plans prevail.
- Please pray for protection. Protection over our hearts for what we may witness. Protection over the health of each member of our group.
- Please pray that the Lord would equip each of us to share Christ’s love through medical care and VBS. Please pray for each individual we will encounter on this trip.
And lastly, we praise the Lord for the opportunity to serve Him in this capacity. May His will be done.
