Freedom’s Promise is a modern day abolitionist group who refuses to stand idly by as basic freedom’s are denied to innocent men, women and children. With the issue of slavery being so large, Freedom’s Promise has started by focusing on the prevention of sex trafficking in Cambodia and in our own backyard of Nashville, Tennessee.
Modern-day slavery is not about race; it’s about poverty – vulnerable people exploited for the economic gain of a few individuals. There are approximately 27 million slaves around the world who are abused, held against their will, and left hopeless. With an unending supply of human lives, human trafficking has become the fastest growing criminal industry in the world today. Freedom’s Promise believes every person has a right to freedom and hope. We believe that if vulnerable people groups are given education, skills and resources to prevent them from being enslaved, they will have hope in a new and abundant life.
The mission of Freedom's Promise is two-fold: We facilitate the rehabilitation efforts of our national and international partners by providing them encouragement, resources and support. We also work with indigenous people to identify the root causes of trafficking. We create and implement tangible solutions designed to build a stronger country and a people equipped to fight against human trafficking.
Freedom’s Promise is a 501c3 that became a non-profit in the state of Tennessee in June 2007. Freedom’s Promise is a member of the Nashville Rescue & Restore Coalition, a group of non-profits, lawyers, police, FBI and social workers, trying to raise awareness about human trafficking issues and prevent trafficking in Tennessee.
